Picis’ 8th Annual Customer Conference Highlights Clinical and Financial Results in High-Acuity Automation
Revenue management and patient safety top-of-mind as Picis HIT partners and customers explore ways to improve the patient experience
WAKEFIELD, Mass.— May 19, 2008 — Picis, the leading provider of high-acuity care information systems, today announced that Picis Exchange, its premier event that brings together healthcare executives, clinicians and IT staff, will take place June 15-18 at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla. This 8th annual customer conference attracts over 300 Picis customers from prestigious medical centers across North America, including The Mayo Clinic, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, University of California San Francisco Medical Center and Inova Health System. With a theme of “Results Delivered,” this year’s conference will feature presentations delivered by more than 15 clients.
The keynote speaker at Picis Exchange, John J. Nance, is a founding member of the National Patient Safety Foundation at the American Medical Association, and is one of the pioneers of the pivotal safety revolution in healthcare. Nance is an internationally-recognized broadcast analyst for both medical/patient safety and aviation safety, logging countless appearances on ABC World News, Good Morning America, Oprah, the PBS News Hour, The Today Show and CNN. In his keynote address, Nance will give an in-depth presentation on how to develop feedback loops that are designed to actually work in the hospital setting.
The Picis Exchange Executive Forum on June 16 features executive keynote speaker John Kenagy, M.D., discussing ways to improve performance at the point of care. Roundtable discussion topics led by moderator David J. Collis offer peer-to-peer dialog on some of the most pressing issues facing care delivery organizations today, including leveraging scorecards and benchmarking to optimize results; and Pay-for-Performance (P4P): The impact of the clinical practice of physicians on revenue and compliance.
