Picis Appoints Elizabeth Popovich to Executive Vice President of International Operations
BARCELONA, Spain — Sep 1, 2008 — Picis, the leading provider of information systems for the high-acuity areas of hospitals, has appointed Elizabeth Popovich, co-founder of the company, to the position of executive vice president of international operations. In this role, Popovich will provide strategic and executive leadership of sales and operations outside of North America as the company rapidly expands its international presence — with primary focus in the very near future on Europe.
“The company is making this investment because we believe that management focus and a holistic approach to the business will allow us to more quickly build a strong foundation for rapid growth,” said Popovich. “Picis has always been a growth company; this organizational focus is being put in place to build a platform upon which our international markets will become the most significant source of growth in 3–5 years.”
Prior to this appointment, Popovich led the sales and marketing efforts of Picis since the company’s inception. She was formerly the director of marketing for Marquette Electronics’ (now GE Healthcare) patient monitoring and clinical information systems division for Europe, where she became one of the industry’s leading experts in perioperative and critical care information systems.
