Picis LYNX revenue management solutions
Complete revenue management for the emergency department and hospital-owned clinics
Now more than ever, healthcare organizations must look to make outpatient care a core part of their business strategy. Not only do organizations risk not charging for services provided, but also risk charging in an inconsistent and non-compliant manner that can lead to costly audits. LYNX™ revenue management solutions help healthcare organizations consistently and compliantly code and charge for nearly all outpatient care. Together with Picis ED PulseCheck®, LYNX offers the most complete solution available to help ensure that hospitals get paid appropriately for the emergency care that they provide. LYNX revenue management solutions help emergency and other outpatient care providers:
- Automatically capture charges for care provided
- Consistently calculate the E/M facility visit level, often with significant financial returns
- Protect against audits (RAC, MAC, fiscal intermediaries, commercial payers) with proven and defensible charging
- Better integrate the patient care, charging and coding process
LYNX Revenue Management Solutions include:
LYNX E/Point Facility
Consistent and compliant facility visit level (E/M score) calculation and procedure charge capture for the emergency department.
LYNX E/Point® Facility allows clinicians to capture procedure charges and calculate the facility visit level as part of the clinical documentation process. E/Point Facility uses a weight-based methodology, resulting in consistent and defensible visit level scoring. This methodology is used to calculate the facility visit level for more than 21 million emergency department visits annually. Clients who use E/Point Facility average an increase of $30 net revenue per patient after implementation. E/Point Facility has withstood many audits without an adverse outcome – in fact, LYNX is contractually obligated to support all clients who encounter an audit. E/Point Facility is integrated into the clinical workflow and is easy to learn and use.
LYNX C/Point
Consistent and compliant charge capture and facility visit level charge calculation for hospital-owned clinics.
Enabling charging compliance at an organization means establishing a consistent and compliant facility visit level charge calculation methodology across the entire outpatient spectrum — including hospital-owned clinics. C/Point® leverages the leading charging methodology found in E/Point Facility and applies it to the outpatient care setting to help organizations charge appropriately and compliantly for the care they provide across most outpatient treatment areas.
LYNX E/Code
Complete CPT and ICD-9 code assignment and improved coding communication and workflow.
LYNX E/Code® is able to directly pull all charges captured in ED PulseCheck, making it easier for coders to review and submit the patient bill. This integration eliminates much of the data entry required of the coder, allowing more time to be spent on coding review than transcription of charges into codes. This integrated solution also enables coders and clinicians to communicate with each other directly to quickly reconcile documentation discrepancies. E/Code:
- Provides valuable management data to evaluate physician productivity and documentation quality and to assess financial performance
- Minimizes compliance risk by promoting accurate code assignment and establishing a coding audit trail
- Promotes an objective approach to code assignment
InSight ED Charge Rules
Notifications for incomplete documentation to help improve charge capture and core measures reporting
InSight ED™ Charge Rules sends notifications to clinicians when documentation that impacts charging is either missing or incomplete. By addressing these omissions during documentation, care provided in the emergency department is more likely to be charged and billed for – including infusion and injection services. These notifications also cut down on denied claims and the back and forth between clinicians and coders.
